If you are in Austria there are a number of destinations that you’d be hitting. Jam-packed with popular tourist attractions, picking what to see in Graz may be difficult for tourists with limited time.

In my opinion, 4 days in Graz is good time to see the best that city has to offer. But if you can spare couple of days more that’s even better, you can take the sights more slowly. Here is a combined list of best tourist places in Graz as well as some of the best things to do in Graz.
1. Schloßberg
Located on top of a high hill, Schloßberg is a beautiful medieval structure.
On this spot you will see buttresses, crenellations and arrow loops all part of defensive installations. Occasionally, you will find information boards giving you details about the place.

2. Kunsthaus Graz
An interesting museum in Graz, Kunsthaus Graz collects some of the finest pieces of modern art.

For anyone interested in military history of the region, Landeszeughaus is a good place to start.

11. Mariatrost Basilica
Mariatrost Basilica, the centuries old landmark, is considered to be one of Graz’s most gorgeous churches.
A donation at the entrance is optional but encouraged, since it will go towards the preservation of this piece of history. There is so much beauty in this church, from the front facade to the interior that it’s hard to choose a favorite.

12. Schlossbergbahn
The Schlossbergbahn serving the city of Graz, takes you through the steep city hill.
The city planners built this system of funiculars to aid with transportation to and from the city’s upper areas. The funicula is the quickest method to reach to the top.
Watch Schlossbergbahn take passengers to the upper parts while providing panoramic vistas of the area.
