Backpacking Alaverdi is a rich and delightful experience with so much to do and see. And in this travel blog I’ll share with you some of my top places to visit in Alaverdi.

1. Sanahin Monastery
Sanahin Monastery is a centuries old religious complex located near the city of Alaverdi.
Sanahin Monastery is a nice tranquil place away from the chaos. The monastery also houses religious scholars and monks. The monastery features a beautiful church, religious library & a museum with historical artifacts.
The Sanahin Monastery follows the Armenian Architecture style. It was designated as world heritage site in 1996 (20th session).
2. Haghpat Monastery
Haghpat Monastery is a landmark monastery built centuries ago. It scores high in the list of the best places to visit in Alaverdi.
The monastery is noted for its beautiful chapel, old library and cloister.
3. Odzun Church
Odzun Church is a house of Christian worship located in the city of Alaverdi.
Getting to the top requires you to take the flight of stairs. Bow down and you will see the colorfully painted floor. Take the guided tour if you want to make it more interesting.
Choir paintings are quite attractive as well. And the altar pieces will steal your attention. The style in which the church is built is Armenian Architecture.
4. Kobayr monastery
Kobayr monastery is a religious sanctuary, a monastery located close to the Alaverdi city.
Kobayr monastery is a nice tranquil place away from the chaos. The monastery features a beautiful church, religious library & a museum with historical artifacts. The monastery also houses religious scholars and monks.
The style in which the monastery is built is Armenian Architecture. On 1171 the monastery was opened for the public.

5. Mikoyan Brothers Museum
Mikoyan Brothers Museum is a small museum in Alaverdi city. If you have time, it makes for a nice addition to your Alaverdi trip.

Sanahin Bridge is a charming bridge located in Alaverdi capturing the glorious past of the city. Add it to your Alaverdi trip if you have time.
The old bridge is also an important meeting point in the area. The old bridge is located in the heart of the city. The architecture of the bridge is impressive as well.
