    Backpacking Zvartnots is a rich and delightful experience with so much to do and see. And in this travel blog I’ll share with you some of my top places to visit in Zvartnots.

    1. Republic Square, Yerevan

    Yerevan Zoo is a great city zoo housing a myriad of animals. Add it to your Zvartnots trip if you have time.
    The big wild cats are one of the prime draws of Yerevan Zoo. There is a small cafe attached to the zoo. Many animals from other regions can be also find here.
    Take part in the feeding session, its a fun way to interact with animals. Plenty of animal species are to be found in this zoo. The zoo is spread in an area of 35 ha.

    25. Karmravor Church

    Karmravor Church is a house of Christian worship located in the city of Zvartnots.
    There is a cemetry on the church grounds, quite peaceful to walk around. The religious paintings at choir are worth second look. The church looks kinda imposing, and I mean it in a positive way.

    26. Yerevan Brandy Company


    Yerevan Brandy Company is a unique museum with an exhibit featuring history of speciality spirit in the region. Add it to your Zvartnots trip if you have time. Watch the short movie to understand how this spirit is made & aged.
    If you want to buy some for yourself, you can do so as well from the brand store. Head to the tasting room if you are keen to try on some delicious varieties. The bit on the history of distilling is quite informative I’d say.

    27. Yerevan Water World


    Yerevan Water World is a large waterpark located in the Zvartnots city. The water park has several fun rides, water slides, tubing wave pool and a wave machine.
    The in-house eateries serve good food. A fun way to spend a day out indeed. Pay attention to the life guards, it will keep you safe.
    You can also use the changing rooms available here. Yerevan Water World is a good idea on a hot summer day. On 2001 the waterpark was opened for the public.

    Views from the top are simply gorgeous. The fab views are something to be seen though.

    Walking inside the crypt might sound spooky but is actually fun. The frescoes are lovable even if you are not into art. Also, scroll through the brilliantly crafted statues of Saint Sarkis Cathedral, Yerevan.

    Swan Lake is an alluring lake, a drop from heaven with clean, clear water.
    Biking here is fun, the trails are well marked. The water could be really deep, watch yourself. The lake is for families to have fun, fore sure.
    You will find that the water is crystal clear. There is a walking track, so it’s almost impossible to lose your way.

    Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin is a religious complex founded centuries ago. Add it to your Zvartnots trip if you have time.
    The monastery features a beautiful church, religious library & a museum with historical artifacts. The monastery is built in a Armenian Architecture style. The chief architect of the monastery is Gregory the Illuminator.

    47. Dalan Art Gallery and Cafe “Abovyan12”

    Dalan Art Gallery and Cafe “Abovyan12” is a museum in Zvartnots housing fantastic pieces of art.

    48. Teishebaini


    Teishebaini is a winery in Zvartnots with a fantastic facility producing fine quality wine. If you have time, it makes for a nice addition to your Zvartnots trip.
    The winery is spread over a large area. Guided tour is recommend if you are looking to understand more. The exhibits are educational, take a better look.
    The winery is located bit outside the town, but it isn’t to reach. Rusa II is credited with building the winery. The winery stands tall at a height of 901 m.
    The excavation dates of the site goes back to 1939-?
