    In my opinion, 5 days in Hiiumaa is good time to see the best that city has to offer. But if you can spare couple of days more that’s even better, you can take the sights more slowly. Here is a combined list of best tourist places in Hiiumaa as well as some of the best things to do in Hiiumaa.

    1. Kõpu Lighthouse

    Kõpu Lighthouse is an enduring stone lighthouse with a long history.

    It has been an important signal point to warn incoming ships away from the shoreline. Even from the land this pretty whitewashed lighthouse can be seen from miles.

    A set of narrow spiral staircases leads you to the top. Also located on the same premises, the nautical museum is worth a quick look.

    • Touching a height of 36 m, the lighthouse was built in x1531.

    Tahkuna Lighthouse is a well known lighthouse located off the coast of Hiiumaa.

    It has served as an important signal point for incoming vessels. With a beautiful beach nearby you can combine the visit to two.

    You pay a small fee to get in. Do plan in advance as visitor hours are quite limited.

    • Easy to get to Tahkuna Lighthouse is located in xthe Tahkuna Peninsula.
    • The lighthouse was opened on 1875.
    • The lighthouse has a height of around 43 m.

    I find medals & documents to be quite an interesting thing to observe. There are exhibits in the large outdoor area as well. Some of these include armoured vehicles and anti aircraft guns.
