    It doesn’t matter whether you’re here for fast-track travel or leisurely sightseeing; there is an endless supply of things to do and sights to see in Tenerife.

    And in this Tenerife blog I’ll share with you some of my top things to do in Tenerife.

    In my opinion, 5 days in Tenerife is good time to see the best that city has to offer. But if you can spare couple of days more that’s even better, you can take the sights more slowly. Here are the best things to see in Tenerife along with a list of the most interesting things to do in Tenerife:

    1. Siam Park

    Siam Park

    On a hot summer day there can’t be a better idea than to visit Siam Park.

    The water park has several fun rides, water slides, tubing wave pool and a wave machine.

    Young children have their own tiny pool so they can have fun too. Life guards as well as staff keep watch on the guests at all times.

    • The highlight of the place includes the Thai theme on which it is based on.
    • Easy to get to Siam Park is located in Costa Adeje.
    • to reach there take the free bus from Tenerife.
    • Siam Park was opened in September 2008.

    2. Teide National Park

    Teide National Park

    Teide National Park is a forest reserve of national importance found in the Tenerife region.

    You can either walk or enjoy riding a bicycle through the lush greenery. You will find plenty of climbing and adventure opportunities in here.

    If you get tired you can sit in the on-site cafe and relax. The zoo also hosts daily talks and regular events such as feeding demonstrations and photography workshops.

    • Spread over an area of 13.5 hectare, the highlight of Loro Park includes dolphin and sea lions show, a splash zone and sea world.
    • Some of the notable animals include penguins and gorillas.
    • Easy to get to Loro Park is located in outskirts of Puerto de la Cruz.

    • Some of the most popular exhibits that can be seen here are Katandra Treetops, Loro Show, Leones Marinos.

    Interestingly, the sand you see is imported and Playa de Las Teresitas is classified as a man made beach. You’d be surprised how it was earlier, a rocky beach with black sand!

    And if you need a bite, there are vendors around the beach. Sun loungers offer a great way to relax.

    Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín is modern building in Tenerife with a strikingly modern look.

    It has been an important signal point to warn incoming ships away from the shoreline. With a beautiful beach nearby you can combine the visit to two.

    Do plan in advance as visitor hours are quite limited. You pay a small fee to get in.

    A beautiful addition to city’s architecture, Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Candelaria is a house of christian worship located in Tenerife.

    The church was given the designation of minor basilica in 2011 by the Pope Benedict XVI.

    Frescoes and gold details adorn the ceiling of the church. It is well worth to pay a small donation, as it goes towards supporting the ongoing upkeep of this piece of history.

    • It is José Enrique Marrero Regalado who conceptualized and turned it into a reality.

    Museum of Nature and Man is an interesting museum depicting the natural history of the island with a light on local Guanche culture.

    Botanical Garden is a large expanse of green located in the very heart of Tenerife.

    The garden was created to help in the scientific study of plants for research and medicinal purposes.

    Flora and fauna from all parts of the world are on display here. Plants belonging to different climatic conditions can be found here – tropical, subtropical and savannah.

    17. La Tejita

    La Tejita

    A nice wide beach, La Tejita has all the amenities you need to make for a great experience.

    Remember, this is an award winning Blue Flag beach with amenities such as showers, lifeguard towers, drinking water and medical faciility. The restaurant at the beach serve a variety of seafood.
