According to Hindu belief, Lord Hanuman, the monkey deity, was born on here on Anjani Parvat.

No doubt, the place is revered as a sacred site in Hinduism.

In addition to fact that it is a renowned Hindu pilgrimage place, the natural beauty of the landscape that surrounds the temple attracts a great number of people.

The monkey kingdom of Kishkindha is claimed to have been located here. The same is referenced in Ramayana as well.

According to it, this is the very place where Lord Hanuman was born. Anjeneya is the name given to Hanuman, and as a consequence, the hill was called Anjanadri.

The hill’s summit is home to a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. To get there 500+ stairs are required to be climbed! But these stone steps are well paved and are easy on the sole of your feet. As you ascent the cool air helps travelers fight the fatigue. Great for any who wants to physically challenge themselves.

A swarm of monkeys may be seen on the hill and at the temple on the peak. Once your reach the top you will find the fantastic sweeping views of Hampi, with giant boulders and meandering Tungabhadra River. And the sunset views from Anjanadri Hill are completely out of the world.

The temple, marked by a flapping red flag nearby, itself oozes rustic charm with its whitewashed walls and old doors, and with a touch of little red dome.
Inside, the temple’s main attraction is a rock carving of Hanuman. A small shrine honoring Lord Rama and his wife Sita may also be seen near to it.
