Traveling to Dubrovnik soon and can’t decide where to visit? You are in luck. And in this travel blog I’ll share with you some of my top places to visit in Dubrovnik.
Going on a 5 days trip to Dubrovnik is sufficient to see some of the city’s top sights. So let’s begin our trip to Dubrovnik, shall we?
1. Walls of Dubrovnik
Walls of Dubrovnik is a historical fortifications around the Dubrovnik city. The wall has quite a few gates which bear notable decorations. Some parts of the fortification still remains preserved and is a sight to appreciate.
The list of architects include Giorgio da Sebenico, Paskoje Miličević Mihov, Michelozzo, Antonio Ferramolino, Mihajlo Hranjac. The city wall stands tall at a height of Up to 25 m (82 ft). The material used in the construction include Limestone.
2. Lokrum
Lokrum is a small island lying off the west coast, only a few kilometres from the Dubrovnik city. One of the favorite tourist places to visit in Dubrovnik is the Lokrum. You will get to see some of the fantastic views of the sea.
Lokrum is a popular holiday destination for the travelers. The boat trip to Lokrum itself is really enjoyable.
3. Stradun
Open air cafes – is one more charm of this place. The place has a few restaurants nearby. The street has a quite a lot of shops around.
The street is one of the most beautiful you will come across. The tourists shops are tacky but surely an option to buy souvenirs.
4. Rector’s Palace
Rector’s Palace is a beautiful palace located in Dubrovnik, Croatia. It is one of the top places to visit in Dubrovnik.
5. Lovrijenac
Lovrijenac are the remains of an fort perched atop a cliff & offering fantastic views of the area. Follow the hiking trail leading up to the fort ruins. Foundation stones lay bare in this historic fort ruin.
You can still see the abandoned old cannons in the area. Visit the fort ruins for sunset views. The fort ruins is considered to be built by Dubrovnik citizens.
The material used in the construction include Limestone.
6. Srđ
Located in Dubrovnik, Srđ is a beautiful hill covered in lovely woods. It scores high in the list of the best places to visit in Dubrovnik.
You will get to see some really awesome views as you climb up. Srđ is a lovely green space, an oasis of calmness indeed. The tracks are well paved and quite comfortable for hiking.
There are walking trails leading up to the top. panoramic summit views makes it worth the climb.
7. Tvrđava Minčeta
Tvrđava Minčeta is a centuries-old ruined fortress perched on top of a hill. You can follow the hiking trail which leads to the stone remains of this old fort. Foundation stones lay bare in this historic fort ruin.
You can still see the abandoned old cannons in the area. Visit the fort ruins for sunset views.
8. Dubrovnik Cathedral
Dubrovnik Cathedral is a beautiful Cathedral situated in Dubrovnik. It is one of the top things to do in Dubrovnik.
Also, scroll through the brilliantly crafted statues of Dubrovnik Cathedral. On the church wall you will find several religious artwaork hanging. Worth noticing are the frescoes hung on the cathedral walls.
The ornate interior is eye-catching. The old organ of the cathedral is charming to listen to. The style in which the cathedral is built is Baroque architecture.
On 1670 the cathedral was opened for the public. Some of the famous burials here include Saint Silvan.

9. Dubrovnik Cable Car
Take the Dubrovnik Cable Car to enjoy the scenic hillside ride with sweeping views of the valley. Dubrovnik Cable Car gives you an alternative if you don’t want to hike.
In the peak season you might have to queue up a bit.
10. Dominican Monastery
Dominican Monastery is a religious complex founded centuries ago. It is among the top places to visit in Dubrovnik.
The monastery also houses religious scholars and monks. The monastery is noted for its beautiful chapel, old library and cloister. Dominican Monastery is a nice tranquil place away from the chaos.

11. Franciscan Church and Monastery
Franciscan Church and Monastery is a landmark monastery built centuries ago.
The monastery features a beautiful church, religious library & a museum with historical artifacts.
12. Large Onofrio’s Fountain
It is one of the popular attractions in Dubrovnik.
13. St Blaise’s Church
St Blaise’s Church is an old church located in the city of Dubrovnik.
Don’t miss the stunning views from the top. The views are just wonderful. The stained glass window is an art piece in itself.
There is a cute little chapel here as well. Getting to the top requires you to take the flight of stairs. The style in which the church is built is Baroque.
Marino Groppelli is the principal architect of the church.
14. Sponza Palace
Sponza Palace is an amazing looking palace in Dubrovnik city. It is a popular tourist destination in Dubrovnik.
Some of the architectural styles that the palace reflect are Gothic architecture, Renaissance architecture.
15. Pile Gate
Pile Gate is an old gate providing an entry portal to the old town of Dubrovnik.
The Pile Gate has a beautifully carved exterior facade, with lot of detailing. The old gate is designed in a classical style. Decorated with Turrets and medallions the old gate stands tall as the guard of the old town.
16. War Photo Limited
War Photo Limited is a museum of photography illustrating different aspects of wars. It is one of the most popular tourist places in Dubrovnik. The museum presents a very moving photographic history of wars.
The museum stops you in your tracks and forces you to think.
18. Lapad
Lapad is a popular tree lined beach with clear blue water, soft sand & a promenade. Right among the top places to visit in Dubrovnik is the Lapad.
Lapad is truly a paradise that you have been looking for. You wil always find life guards on alert, please heed to their warnings. It’s a great place for kids to visit as well.
Also, take a relaxing swim in the water. For having fresh seafood head to one of the restaurants on the beach.
19. St. Saviour Church
St. Saviour Church is an interesting church that can be found in Dubrovnik.
The high vault has lot of details built into it. The cemetry has got quite a few notable person buried. I usually look for altar, it usually tells you how beautiful the church is. And you won’t be disappointed here.
Climb up, and up and up to get to the top. The church looks kinda imposing, and I mean it in a positive way. The architectural styles that the church is built in are Gothic architecture, Renaissance architecture.
On 1528 the church was opened for the public. It was designated as world heritage site in 1520.
20. Orlando’s Column
Orlando’s Column is an elegant monument located in the center of the Dubrovnik city. This beautiful column stands as a monument and a commemorative object.
The column is made entirely of stone.

21. Daksa
Daksa is a small but scenic island, part of a well-known chain of islands. If you have time, it makes for a nice addition to your Dubrovnik trip. You will get to see some of the fantastic views of the sea.
The boat trip to Daksa itself is really enjoyable. Daksa is a popular holiday destination for the travelers.
22. Dubrovnik Synagogue
Dubrovnik Synagogue is a prominent synagogue located in the older part of the Dubrovnik city.
The in-house museum presents interesting collection on Jewish history of Dubrovnik. This well preserved synagogue is really a gem of Jewish heritage. The synagogue interior are rich and detailed.
The dome of the Dubrovnik Synagogue adds to the beautiful architecture. The synagogue is built in a Baroque style.

23. Otok Lokrum
Otok Lokrum is a serene island, known for its scenic beauty, located out in the open sea. Add it to your Dubrovnik trip if you have time. You will get to see some of the fantastic views of the sea.

24. Lazzarettos of Dubrovnik
Lazzarettos of Dubrovnik is a center of nightlife, music and dancing, located in the city of Dubrovnik.
On 1642 the nightclub area was opened for the public. The construction started in 1590. The material used in the construction include Limestone.
25. Saint Ignatius
Saint Ignatius is a house of Christian worship located in the city of Dubrovnik. If you have time, it makes for a nice addition to your Dubrovnik trip.
The church looks imposing as if staring right back at you. The choir is decorated with beautiful religious paintings. The fab views are something to be seen though.
The art pieces that decorate the altar adds to its beauty. The church has a beautifully decorated altar.

27. Vrata od Ploča
Vrata od Ploča is a medieval gate in city’s old town. Add it to your Dubrovnik trip if you have time.
Turrets and medallions adorn this majestic gate.
28. Kalelarga street
Kalelarga street is a pedestrian friendly street in the old town center of Dubrovnik. Kalelarga street has been a pedestrian street for quite some time now.
Many restaurants and cafes have setup tables outside, which I personally find very charming.
29. Gruz port parking
Gruz port parking is a public park located in the Dubrovnik city. If you have time, it makes for a nice addition to your Dubrovnik trip.
The playground at the park is also an added attraction. The attached cafe is quite chill. The park is recommended for families.
If you are into photography, this is your place. The lighting on the fountain is brilliant.
30. Buggy Safari
Buggy Safari is a great place to indulge yourself in the ATV fun.
Half the fun of driving ATV is maneuvering in the rough terrain. By the end of it your ATV will be covered in mud and you might as well, but don’t worry.
31. Maritime Museum
Maritime Museum is a maritime museum located in the city of Dubrovnik. Add it to your Dubrovnik trip if you have time. If you are into shipbuilding and sailing you will love this museum.
This intimate museum offers an exhibition of a range of maritime relics. The museum reflects on the maritime history of the region.
32. Fort Imperial
Fort Imperial are the remains of an fort perched atop a cliff & offering fantastic views of the area. Follow the hiking trail leading up to the fort ruins. Foundation stones lay bare in this historic fort ruin.
Visit the fort ruins for sunset views. You can still see the abandoned old cannons in the area.
33. Bellevue Beach
Bellevue Beach is a cute little spot, though rocky, ideal for spending quiet time. Add it to your Dubrovnik trip if you have time. The Bellevue Beach is a part of a rocky coastline which stretches for miles.
34. Gradac Park
Gradac Park is a green space open for public in the city of Dubrovnik.
Gazebos make for the picture perfect backgrounds. Locals throng to the park as well. The flowers are pure explosion of color.
The manicured lawn is really well maintained. The fountain has lighting that you’ll enjoy.
35. Plaža Sveti Jakov
Plaža Sveti Jakov is a small but beautiful beach with velvety sand and clear water. If you have time, it makes for a nice addition to your Dubrovnik trip.
36. Etnografic Museum Rupe
Etnografic Museum Rupe is an ethnography museum showcasing the people and culture of Dubrovnik region.
At the ethnography museum local life is very well represented in the collection of artifacts. The ethnography museum is certainly a unique place to visit. You must take a look at the cultural collection at the ethnography museum.
37. Fort Royal
If you have time, it makes for a nice addition to your Dubrovnik trip.
38. Franjo Tuđman Bridge
Franjo Tuđman Bridge is a beautiful bridge with bungee jumping activity. If you are not into jumping you can simply watch as well.
A great place to bungee jump indeed. The total length of the bridge stands at around 518 m. On 11 May 2002 the bridge was opened for the public.

39. Dubrovnik Aquarium
Dubrovnik Aquarium is an aquarium located in the city of Dubrovnik. If you have time, it makes for a nice addition to your Dubrovnik trip.
Undoubtedly, Dubrovnik Aquarium is well kept by its staff. The aquarium offers a diverse set of collection. Finding Nemo? You won’t have to, as there are so many of them in here.
Take part in the feeding session, its a fun way to interact with animals. There are small sharks in here, can you guess the species?
40. Fort St. Ivana
Fort St. Ivana is a large fort complex housing many medieval structures. The fort complex will give you a well preserved medieval feel.
There are wonderful views across the whole area to be had from here. Checkout the interesting museum inside the fort complex.
41. Suluci
Suluci is a small picturesque beach with soft sand and clear blue waters. If you have time, it makes for a nice addition to your Dubrovnik trip.
42. Brsalje ulica
Brsalje ulica, often described as the vein of the city, is an old street in Dubrovnik. This historic descent connects two important neighborhoods of the city.
The old street dates back to hundreds of years to the imperial times.
43. Homeland War Museum
Homeland War Museum is a prominent museum dedicated to the horrors of country’s one of the worst wars. If you have time, it makes for a nice addition to your Dubrovnik trip.
The museum is reminder of the dark sides of humanity.
44. Upper Corner Tower Foundry Museum
Upper Corner Tower Foundry Museum is a small museum in Dubrovnik city.
All in all, whether you are a backpacker, a solo traveler or a female traveler, a couple or a family, there are plenty of things to do in Dubrovnik for everyone. There is something about Dubrovnik, that pulls you back to this place again and again, to explore more and more.
